01.02.2010 // by Sophie BertrandThe "facts" we have been told about ID cards cutting crime and illegal immigration into this country are utter tripe.
There is no proof that the introduction of these invasions of our privacy have cut crime in other countries where ID cards have been in place for decades, such as France and Germany
ID cards will hold over 50 pieces of information about each UK resident. How can we trust our government to keep these safe when over the past few years it has lost over 30 million people's details?
ID cards will supposedly protect us from identity fraud, but how is that possible when each card (which could be easily stolen) contains so many details?
These cards are an infringement of our basic human rights and their possible introduction to this country is only discrediting an already waning government.
This is just one of many ideas by Power 2010 that Liberal Youth are more than happy to put their name to.
