17.03.2010 // by Mike BritlandCalder Valley Lib Dem Candidate Hilary Myers has signed up to a cleaner, better politics today by supporting the POWER2010 pledge.
Hilary said:
"I'm backing the Power2010 campaign for a new politics. Its so important that people regain some of the trust lost in politicians last year and I promise to make these issues a priority today. A Liberal Democrat Government would introduce Proportional Representation, scrap the ID card scheme and make the House of Lords fully elected as matters of priority. Neither of the other two main parties is so committed to making our system fairer. "

Mike Britland, Yorkshire Organiser for Power2010 said:
"Many local residents have already voted for these issues as things that fundamentally affect the way we're represented.
If we're going to get our voice heard on the big issues locally it's important we have a more open and democratic system nationally."
