Welcome to the Power2010 blog

Guy Aitchison: Hi, and welcome to the Power2010 blog. This blog is where you'll be able to find all the latest developments in our campaign to take back power from politicians and reinvigorate democracy.

We've set out the Power2010 plan for change and how you can be involved here. If you haven't yet joined the campaign you can do it here.

Power2010 is all about fixing our broken politics from the bottom up. The first step is for you to tell us your ideas - the democratic and political reforms you most want to see from the next Parliament. Over the coming weeks we'll be using this blog to share some of the best of them alongside personal accounts by you, our supporters, saying why you want change.

With the continual sleaze and bad government coming from politicians it's easy to feel depressed and resigned to business as usual. But with a general election under a year away and our political class weakened following the expenses scandal we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity for change.

As Helena Kennedy, chair of Power2010, has said "it is precisely now that we need to make our power work harder than ever, in order to extract a binding commitment from the next Parliament to change our politics for good."
