10.03.2010 // by Mike BritlandThe Yorkshire Power2010 roadshow has been in Sheffield this week, where voters have been signing up to show their support for our campaign.
Local residents, workers and visitors have all been eager to express their frustration with our failing political system and pleased to see us taking up the baton of reform.
One group of first-time voters expressed their views; "We just don't feel like there's anyone offering anything different or worth voting for. We want to see politicians really understanding the issues faced by today's young people, and listening to us." Pensioners, too, are feeling left out.
One retired lady told us, "I've voted all my life, but with the system as it is, I'm not sure its worth the effort any more".
Like the voters (and non-voters) of Sheffield, we believe its time to make a positive change to the political culture in our country.
