30.03.2010 // by Kelly SmithThis weekend Power2010 North East visited the very windy Middlesbrough and set up shop in the town centre.
We met a huge range of people; students, retired couples, working parents and young professionals. Having lost most of the balloons to ridiculous gusts of wind within about 5 minutes of arriving, we resorted to handing out badges and stickers to those who signed, and it proved to be a great success.
After a while (obviously enticed by the attention we were getting and our prime location) Lib Dem candidate for Middlesbrough, Chris Foote-Wood and his campaign team decided to set up about ten feet away, but not before they all came over to sign the pledge and tell us what a good job Power2010 were doing of trying to clean up politics.
Today we are in Newcastle and this Saturday we have a stall in Darlington, so make sure you find the time to come and see us if you haven't signed the pledge yet!
