08.02.2010 // by Sam WilsonOver the weekend myself and volunteers from the local area ran a POWER2010 voting booth at the Oxford Forum for International Development (OxFID) run by the Oxford branch of Student Hubs. As the first event I had run in Oxford it was great to get some activists involved and spread the word into the local student population.

With nearly 500 students from across the UK attending the event it was a great opportunity for them to vote on the reforms that are important to them, as you can see from the pictures below many took the time to vote and discuss the campaign.
Although many of the participants at the event had a strong interest in international relations and development, there was a strong feeling of concern when discussing the state of the UK political system.

Next Saturday I am planning to hold a public meeting in Oxford (location TBD) and would like to get as many members of the local community along to participate. If you would be interested in coming along to the meeting please get in contact with me on sam@power2010.org.uk.
If you want to find out more on whats happening in your area, make sure you sign up so one of our organisers can contact you.
