McNulty gets a visit from the Power2010 sheriff

18.03.2010 // by Annie Quick

In just a couple of days we had an amazing response to our letter highlighting Tony McNulty's dreadful record on reform and civil liberties with almost 3,000 people co-signing.

Today local volunteer residents - and a Power2010 sheriff - decided it was time to deliver the letter direct to the door of London's Most Wanted MP.

A few hours in Harrow town centre found that lots of residents had already heard about the campaign through friends, family or the local papers.

Some were a little surprised to be approached by the sheriff while out shopping, but many who hadn't already put the Wanted poster up in their window took one with them.Next we headed off to Byron road and to the Labour Harrow East office.

Unfortunately no one was in (or no one replied to the door) so we had to put the letter through the letter box.

That many names, however, takes up rather a lot of paper so the sheriff didn't manage this without getting pretty tangled up.

McNulty has been rather quiet as the campaign has been building up these past few days.

We're waiting to see what defence, if any, he will offer on the accusations laid against him.

Today marked the first of many actions across the country which will highlight those MPs still protecting the ways of the Old Politics.

McNulty should know that neither voters (nor the almighty Power2010 sheriff) will stand for it much longer.
