What's the big idea?:
House of Lords members to be elected within representative organisations such as those representing doctors, scientists, nurses, landowners, trade unions, business, lawyers, the larger charities etc. - even politicians; allocation of seats to organisations by an independent body.
Why is this change important to you?:
To introduce expertise into parliament and diminish patronage on a democratic basis.
