30.11.2009 // by GuestThis idea comes from Aidan in Woodstock:
What's the big idea?:
More freedom to protest peacefully, less kettling of protesters.
Why is this change important to you?:
We saw not only at the G20 (in the case of Ian Tomlinson) but at other events how far the government has gone to make protests harder and harder. Even using kettling. I believe that the accountability does not lie with the police on the ground but with their superiors and ultimately the government.
There is now a lack of cooperation by the government on all fronts when it comes to helping the people express their veiws through peaceful protest and it needs to end. The bureaucratic legislation that impedes our nations right to freedom of expression needs to be undone.
