30.11.2009 // by GuestThis idea comes from Simon in St Helens:
What's the big idea?:
Political Parties should ensure better representation from MP's. In other words candidates for elections should have some level of connection with their constituency area. Quite simply if a person hasn't actually resided (the house where they are registered to vote themselves) in a constituency for 3 years or more then they cannot be allowed to stand as a candidate. Far too many MP's start off with little or nor connection to their constituencies and this cannot be good for representation.
Why is this change important to you?:
It is wrong that MP's can be elected to represent an area where they have had absolutely no previous connections to (through family, work, etc)
