15.11.2009 // by GuestThis idea comes from Pauline in Carluke:
What's the big idea?:
I think we need to have an English assembly to address issues that are specific to England and to differentiate between what is British and what is English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish. We would still have the Westminster parliament for UK wide issues. Regional government across England would need to be changed to fit with new English Assembly.
Why is this change important to you?:
Too much policy is London centric and causes resentment in other parts of England who feel devolved parliaments in Scotland, Wales etc get favourable treatment. This makes budget control fairer and more transparent and allows everyone to bid accordingly.
