19.10.2009 // by Guy AitchisonThis idea comes from Matthew in Dundee:
What's the big idea?:
Can't claim it as my idea but I would be fully behind reform of the voting system used at General Elections and the voting age should be reduced to 16.
Why is this change important to you?:
We are always complaining about low turnouts, so why not do the sensible thing and have a system that at least to some extent reflects the views of the people and why not pull more people onto the register - not just any people, but people who actually deserve the vote (there are all the usual reasons for votes at 16 - can have a family, be in the army etc. - but more so out of respect, how can you expect young people to respect politicians, if the politicians won't let them have a say?!)
