19.11.2009 // by GuestThis idea comes from Ruth in Bristol:
What's the big idea?:
That the government listens to its advisors on policy ideas. For example Stephen Nutt's informed suggestions about drugs classification, or paying for a group to explore education and indicate that we should follow the examples of other countries by using play rather then formal education methods to promote development until a child is six. In the countries that follow this, children perform better at school. The government's response was to ignore their advice.
Why is this change important to you?:
I feel that the government should follow informed and credible ideas for promoting reform as oppposed to just making decisions that suit their politics.
