A cold but inspiring day in the centre of Brighton…

27.02.2010 // by Sam Wilson

Today POWER2010 activists from across the UK converged on Brighton to take the 5 reforms of the POWER pledge to the public and the attendants of the Conservative Party conference.

Despite the cold weather, just over 300 people stopped to talk about the pledge and sign the petition to shape up our political system.

We have been asking members of the public to write their views on balloons which we have used to create gigantic chains popping up across the city, featuring messages such as "no ID cards", "make politicians personal" and "I love politics".

Its been great to chat to people about their views and to meet so many who want to see a significant change to our system!

Pam Giddy, director of Power2010, is on a panel discussion this afternoon with Shadow Leader of the House Sir George Young and others, putting the case for root and branch reform to the Tories.

More soon.
