Browsing through the ideas contributed to Power 2010, I was struck by two things. Firstly, people care about democracy. The enthusiasm and imagination on display, gives lie to the story of the apathetic and disengaged public often peddled by journalists and politicians. How will 2009 be remembered? For many people, no doubt, it will go down as the year we discovered just how rotten politics has become with MPs more interested in improving their homes at the taxpayers' expense than improving the lives of their constituents. More »
